Privacy policy

We collect as little personal data as we can and never sell it. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Who is responsible

TenMost is run by the TenMost team. Contact us through the contact page for any privacy question or request.

What we collect

  • Account: your e-mail address and a securely stored password (or your Google sign-in if you use it).
  • Nationality: the country your votes count for, and when you last changed it.
  • Votes: which entry you voted for in each ranking, including weekly votes. Votes are only ever shown as totals and shares by country — never who voted for what.
  • Your contributions: suggestions, proof links, confirmations, reports and feedback.
  • Settings on your device: language, chosen country and closed notices are stored in your browser.
  • Technical data: to show content for your country we use your approximate country, derived from your IP address by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address in our database.

Why we use it

  • To run the service: accounts, voting, rankings and country statistics (performance of our agreement with you).
  • To keep rankings honest: preventing fake accounts, cheating and abuse (our legitimate interest).
  • To answer your messages (our legitimate interest, or your request).
  • Advertising: personalised ads only with your consent, which you can change at any time on the advertising privacy page.

Who helps us

We use trusted service providers who process data for us: Supabase (database and accounts), Vercel (hosting), Google (sign-in, if you choose it, and ads, if enabled and with your consent), and flagcdn.com (country flag images). Proof links are checked by our servers; no personal data is sent to the checked websites.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your votes, vote history and nationality are deleted with it. Moderation records may be kept longer where needed to prevent abuse.

Your rights

You can access, correct and delete your data, object to some processing, ask for a copy and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account in your account settings. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Accounts are for people aged 16 or over (or the minimum age in your country, if higher).

Changes

We may update this policy. Important changes will be announced on the site.
