Community rules

TenMost only works if rankings are honest. These rules apply to everyone, and we enforce them strictly.

Voting

  • Vote only with your own, registered account. One person — one account.
  • One vote per ranking. You can change it at any time.
  • The weekly vote can be changed within 15 minutes; after that it stays until Monday.
  • Your nationality counts your votes for one country. It can be changed once every 12 months.
  • No bots, scripts, multiple accounts, buying or selling votes, or organised fake voting.

Suggesting entries

  • Suggest only real, public things: public figures, places, works, products and ideas.
  • Add a proof link from an accepted source (for example Wikipedia, an official site or a national news site). Social media, blogs and short links are not accepted.
  • Things and places without an online source can be confirmed by the community instead — never people.
  • No private persons and no sensitive topics (politics and elections, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, health, crime or war).
  • No images. Write descriptions yourself — do not copy text from other websites.

Confirming entries

Confirm only what you know is real. If an entry you confirmed turns out to be fake, you get a strike too.

Reporting problems

Reports need evidence: a link for factual problems, a clear explanation otherwise. Reports never remove anything by themselves — a moderator decides. False reports meant to harm an honest entry are penalised and can lead to a permanent ban.

Private rankings

  • Private rankings are only for people who have the invite link. They are not shown in search engines or public lists.
  • Voting is secret. We store only that a person voted, never what they chose, so nobody — the creator, other members or the TenMost team — can see who voted for what.
  • Results open once: when the expected number of people has voted, or at the deadline if at least 3 people voted. With fewer than 6 voters only the order is shown. In very small groups the result itself can still give choices away.
  • Private persons may be candidates, but rankings that mock, insult or bully anyone are not allowed. They can be reported, and moderators remove them.

Strikes and bans

You get a strike for a fake entry, fake proof, confirming a fake entry, a false report or copying someone else's text or work.

1st strike: warning · 2nd: 7-day ban · 3rd: 30-day ban · 4th: permanent ban (counted over 12 months).

Clearly malicious false reports can lead to a permanent ban at once. A ban stops suggesting, confirming and reporting; serious abuse such as multiple accounts or bots can also stop voting.

Moderation and appeals

Moderators of the TenMost team make the final decisions. Ranking authors cannot remove other people's entries. If you think a decision was wrong, write to us through the contact page.
